Frequently asked questions

Q: Can you travel outside of Leeds for events?

A: Absolutely! I am available to travel outside of Leeds to capture events. Additional travel charges may apply depending on the location.

Q: Are the photos you capture at the event edited for colour correction and retouching?

A: Yes, I carefully edit all the photos to ensure proper colour correction and enhance their overall quality. More complex editing can be discussed in the brief, with an agreed price.

Q: How do you send the photos?

A: I securely send the photo album via WeTransfer, which uses AES 256-bit encryption. I don’t use an online gallery as they tend to overcomplicate things. Instead you get a simple link to download the 300dpi high resolution jpegs.

Q: What payment methods do you accept?

A: I accept payment through bank transfer and BACS (Bankers' Automated Clearing Services). Once we have agreed on the details and pricing, I will provide you with the necessary payment information (also included on the invoice).

Q: Can we schedule a pre-event consultation to discuss our photography preferences?

A: Absolutely! A pre-event consultation is essential for understanding your vision and specific photography preferences. We can discuss the brief, timeline, shot ideas, and any special moments you want to be captured.

Q: Are there any requirements for crediting you as the photographer when sharing the event photos on social media or with our guests?

A: Yes, please! Crediting the photographer when sharing the event photos is greatly appreciated. You can credit my photography business name or link to my website. It helps support my work and allows others to find and connect with my services too. Thank you for considering this!

Q: What is your backup plan in case of camera or equipment failure during the event?

A: I come prepared with backup cameras, lenses, and equipment to ensure that the event is covered even in the unlikely event of technical issues.

Q: Can you provide us with a written contract outlining the details of our agreement?

A: Yes, I always provide a written contract that outlines all the details of our agreement, including services, pricing, rights, and expectations. This contract serves to protect both parties and ensures a clear understanding of the services to be provided.

Q: What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?

A: I understand that plans can change unexpectedly. If you need to cancel or reschedule the event, please let me know as soon as possible. In the event of cancellation or rescheduling less than 10 working days prior to the agreed booking date, the deposit will be kept and a cancellation or rescheduling fee will be incurred, as outlined in the contract and T&Cs.

Q: How long does it take to receive the edited photos after the event?

A: The turnaround time for editing and delivering the photos varies depending on the size and complexity of the event. Generally, you can expect to receive the edited photos within 3 - 5 business days, but we can negotiate quicker turn arounds if needed.

Q: Are you insured?

A: Yes, I am fully insured. I have £1 million public liability insurance to provide both you and me with peace of mind during the event.

Q: Do you offer videography services for events?

A: As a professional events photographer, I specialize in capturing still photographs rather than videography. I can recommend recommend some great videographers though so just ask.

Q: Do you do weddings?

A: Weddings are not something I photograph, but if we’re friends I may bring my camera along if there's a few beers on the line.

Q: How many images can we expect to receive from the event?

A: The number of images can vary depending on the event's duration and activities. Rest assured, I focus on capturing all the important moments, ensuring you receive a generous selection of professionally edited photos.

Q: Who owns the copyright to the event photos?

A: As the photographer, I retain the copyright to all the event photos I capture and this is industry standard. However, you will receive a license granting you personal/editorial use rights. This means you can use the photos for non-commercial purposes, share them on social media, and print them for personal use. If you have any specific commercial use requests or questions about copyright, please let me know, and we can discuss the details.

Q: How long will you keep a backup of our event photos after delivery, considering GDPR regulations?

A: I will securely store the backup of your event photos for a reasonable period, in compliance with GDPR regulations. Your privacy is essential to me, and I treat your images and personal data with the utmost confidentiality and only use them as outlined in our agreement.

Q: How long in advance should we book your services for our event?

A: It's best to book my services as early as possible to ensure availability for your event date. Popular dates often fill up quickly, so securing your booking in advance is recommended.
